The Houston Independent School District is the largest public school system in Texas and the seventh-largest in the United States. Harris County Department of Education (HCDE), a highly successful educational resource in the Houston metroplex, is a nonprofit tax-assisted organization dedicated to the equalization of educational opportunity and to the advancement of public schools.
